Looking at Week 1, these are the games to watch to kick off the regular season-
Ole Miss at Vanderbilt
Two highly respected coaches- James Franklin and Hugh Freeze, will be matching up on the first night of football. Both teams had a busy offseason bringing in five star recruits to help them inch their way towards the top of the SEC.
Boise State at Washington
Rematch? Why not. These 2 teams faced each other in last year’s Las Vegas Bowl with a close win of Boise State over the Washington Huskies 28-26. A win at Husky Stadium will surely set the tone for expectations of Chris Peterson and his squad the rest of the season.
Mississippi State at Oklahoma State, Reliant Stadium- Houston, TX
This game will spark the debate of SEC vs. Big 12 football for the 2013 season. A neutral site will be a good test for these underrated programs.
LSU vs. TCU, Cowboy Stadium- Arlington, TX
Both these teams are looking to come out strong after having unusually average 2012 seasons. Both teams have key players facing suspensions which will make an interesting matchup between these conference-winning contenders.
Alabama vs. Virginia Tech, Georgia Dome- Atlanta, GA
Alabama- defending champs and a national championship contender once again, is the definite favorite for a 3rd straight title this year. But this anticipation is certainly fueling the fire in the competitiveness at Virginia Tech. Perhaps their determination and preparation will keep this game from being a blowout.
Georgia at Clemson
This game features 2 extremely talented quarterbacks that decided to return for another season to lead their teams to a high-scoring offensive season. Both teams think they have what it takes to win their conference this year, making this the most anticipated game to watch in Week 1.
