Taste Of The Town Segment
Taste Of The Town
Two of Todd’s greatest passions, football and food, blend together perfectly with Taste of the Town.
Todd Blackledge is a former NFL quarterback who also led Penn State to its first national championship in 1982. Currently, you will find him teamed up with his broadcast partner, Brad Nessler, announcing ESPN’s Primetime college football games on Saturday nights. He not only enjoys his job of calling the games, he loves to embrace the pageantry, traditions and cultures that surround him on football weekends across the country.
A special feature of Todd’s broadcasts dating back to 2007, is the enormously popular Todd’s Taste of the Town. Blackledge leads viewers as a featured restaurant guide in whatever college town he is visiting. He researches and selects the places personally, and tries to find the local eating spots that capture the most unique tastes, people and stories.
Todd loves Saturdays in the fall. There is a passion associated with college football and rabid fan bases all across the country that makes it truly special. Todd tries to share that passion with viewers through his game broadcasts and his Taste of the Town segments. He has now taken what he has to share one step further with his new restaurant guide book (due out September 3, 2013) Taste of the Town: A Guided Tour of College Football’s Best Places to Eat. It is loaded with stories of the places Todd has visited, his favorite college football traditions, and features over 100 recipes from restaurants around the country.
The 2013 college football season just got a little better. Almost time for kickoff!
